A possibility is defined as a thing that may happen or be the case.
It may happen or it may be the case.
If we want it to happen we have to make it happen.
Case in point, my daughter is a Track and Field thrower. This means that she throws Discus and Shot Put. Shot Put is about using a very specific motion to help you to throw a heavily weighted ball as far as you can. In competition a women’s weighted ball is 8.8 pounds.
Discus is about throwing a weighted Frisbee as far as you can. Again very precise movements are used. Her discus weighs ten pounds.
Why do I tell you all this? Why is it so interesting?
Because my daughter is the smallest girl on the team. People look at her and do not believe her when she says that she is a thrower. The coach was even surprised when she came to tryouts but it was what she wanted and she was not afraid to try.. and so she did… and she made the team.. and she won first place in her last competition and has now been invited to Invitational’s.
She threw that 10 pound discus more than 69 feet.
REALLY anything is possible.
Sometimes though things do not work out as we wish. We try something and we fail. But did we fail?
NO… a failure is really just one step (ok maybe a few steps) away from SUCCESS. If we never fail then we will never succeed!
And so I encourage you to look for the lessons. There is always something to be learned.
Sometimes we have to look back so that we can look forward.
Perhaps you are looking to start a new business, or you already have a business but the message is not clear. Either way taking a look back can help.
Look back at everything that you have ever tried. Make a list of what was a smashing success and what was not. Take the list of things that did not work out as planned and figure out why, look at where it fell short.
Was it poor planning? finances? Were you just not that into it?… Think about the common thread between any jobs that you have had or any volunteer work that you have done.
1. What positions did you really love and flourish in? Why?
2. Which positions did not nourish you? Why?
This is important information and will help you to move forward as the amazing, successful and powerful woman that you are.
In answering these questions you will begin to gain focus on what really nourishes you and makes your heart sing.
In this is your future.
If you take a job, or open a business, that does not excite you then you simply have… a job.
If you embark on a career that excites you then you have a passion.
Passion will make you excited to work the long hours that are necessary for a successful business. It will make you more than willing to go the extra mile. Passion will garnish the excitement needed to jump out of bed in the morning and embark on your day. Without passion you will want to pull up the covers and go back to sleep.
Do not go to sleep, look back so that you can look forward.
Find your passion and live your passion; no matter your age!!!
Truly know that it is never too late to live your life with passion and purpose. Age should never be an excuse.
