Do you have an October Plan?
Usually, at this time of the month, I already have a solid plan in place. My calendar has been checked, I have created a list of things I wish to accomplish in the upcoming days and I even have an editorial calendar all dialed in.
My October plan is currently a bit more fluid than I would like.
A certain amount of flexibility is important. This is true whether we are talking about your personal schedule, business schedule or even the beloved editorial calendar.
However, too much flexibility can cause one to feel that they have lost their anchor. I fall a bit into this category. However, that is more about the way my September wrapped up than about my October.
September was a scary month in our world… hurricanes, wildfires and a crazed gunman to name a few. On a personal front, while my youngest (18) settled into school more than 400 miles away my oldest (22) moved almost 400 miles away. All the while Mountain Man Ho (20) had no return date to report.
While I stayed up on blogging (writing is a great way for me to channel my energies) I found myself tired, sad and eventually sick.
The Three Most Popular September Posts were:
- Have You Considered Your Own Disaster Preparedness?
- Reflecting on August And Achieving September Goals
- Highlights of The First Annual Pacific Wine & Food Classic
Now we are in a new month and it is time for me to dial up the volume on this October Plan.
I am looking forward to the LA Baby Show (watch for the promotion to be posted on this blog) and am also working with a dear friend to launch a super VIP experience. This Saturday I am excited about Fall In Love With Health at Hoag Hospital. This is going to be a fabulous event, There are a few tickets left if you want to join in on the fun.
Plans for the blog include TWO new series (one business and one educational with food and fun), several restaurant reviews, and a deep dive into why every blog needs a good call to action.
On that note …
From now until Thanksgiving I am offering all blog subscribers (including those already subscribed) a FREE Fall Cookbook.
The cookbook is entitled The Best of Fall: A Five Course Harvest Feast. I worked on this with a colleague of mine. We are both certified nutritionists and thought that this would be a really fun project.
All recipes in this FREE cookbook are gluten free, dairy free, processed sugar-free, and free of artificial color and preservatives.
Each recipe would make a wonderful addition to any meal, whether for a plant-based eater or anyone that would simply like healthier choices available to them.
My co-author and I also provide information on the reason for choosing particular foods. As if all of the delicious recipes complete with preparation tips were not enough.
In this educational cookbook, you will learn about foods that help to prevent cancer, reduce cholesterol, and detoxify. For added fun, we include foods that may improve your sex life.
This cookbook is for you if you want to take the stress out of preparing a healthy holiday meal.
